Essential skills

To join the Digital Marketing & Analytics program at Turing College, the following skills are a must:

Digital Proficiency: Also called “tech-savviness,” meaning you have the fundamental skills in navigating digital platforms, using applications, and conducting online searches to find answers.

English Proficiency: To join the Digital Marketing & Analytics program, a candidate must be able to converse fluently in verbal and written English. The degree of proficiency is a minimum of B2 as per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Self-assess in 15 minutes via this link. You don’t need to send us proof of proficiency, however, we’ll test your skills during the Admissions process.

Industry Awareness: To hit the ground running, recognizing the purpose of advertisements, understanding marketing's revenue role, and grasping the role of digital marketing in the business landscape is recommended.

Self-Reliance and Continuous Learning: The ability to self-learn and troubleshoot using online resources are key, as well as, pursuing learning opportunities as they appear. Digital Marketing is full of ever-evolving technologies, so you should understand that learning goes beyond this program into the rest of your career.

Analytical Thinking: Critical reasoning, curiosity about consumer behaviors, and connecting marketing strategies to business goals showcase analytical skills. You don’t have to know it all before joining the course–but knowing how you fit into the organizational landscape as a digital marketer is important. A basic comfort with numerical data is also required.

The skills listed in this section are not required to join and succeed in the Digital Marketing & Analytics program, but they are valuable and showcase a passion and inherent fit for the work of a digital marketer.
